With proven track-record and experience of over two decades, Dr Balwant Singh Bains today is a renowned and well-respected Physiotherapist in Malaysia.

Before establishing BainsPhysio –a specialized family physio-clinic - in 1985 as  a humble clinic in Ampang, Kuala lumpur, Dr Bains has had the opportunity to work alongside reputed Orthopaedic Surgeons of Malaysia to include Dr. Pritam Singh, Late Dr. Prof Subramaniam, Dr. Tassim Muhamad, Dr. Min Han amongst others.

He has come a long way since and has established BainsPhysio Centre as a credible and reputed clinic with a panel of 15 experienced and well-trained physiotherapists, including massage, yoga, occupational, speech and dance therapists. It’s a holistic centre which provides a perfect prescription for health of mind, body & soul.

Dr Bains has treated many national and international personalities and has also been a health advisor on many cases. He is currently:

  • The Chairperson of the Interim Committee with Malaysian Physiotherapy Association - an advisory body of the Profession

  • Head of Physiotherapy Program and Academic Advisor, Physiotherapy College (2007-2008) - a prestigious, a dynamic and rapidly growing Masterskill College of Nursing and Allied Health, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He has been successful in establishing various partnership practices with NGOs, and providing free physiotherapy consultative services. He has also been organizing various training and knowledge intensive workshops on health and wellness in Malaysia over the years.

Dr. Bains has widely travelled and has delivered in many national, regional and international conferences. Some of them include:

Dr. Bains also received awards for his pioneering and excellent work in healthcare. Amongst others is the most prominent Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang, which was awarded by the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Sultan of Pahang in 2007. This was awarded for excellent public healthcare services of BainsPhysio™.

Besides, Dr. Bains also received the GOPIO Award, an International award of ‘Global Organisation of the People of Indian Origin’. This award was conferred to him for his commendable services and entrepreneurship in the medical category 2008 held in Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

 
 
 
 
 
Tarnjit Kaur Dip PT, PGDR, MMPA
 

Tarnjit Kaur, with over 24 years of clinical practice and profound knowledge on Physiotherapy, has been instrumental in growing the brand BainsPhysio™ into a credible and reputed health and wellness centre.

Before joining BainsPhysio as the Managing Director in 1993, she was the Head of  Physiotherapy Department at the Spastic Children’s Association of Wilayah & Selangor, in Petaling Jaya, Selangor from 1982 till 1992.

One of her pioneering and humanitarian contributions has been the “Hippo therapy” – Riding for the Disabled, in Malaysia together with Dato Sri Mahadevan - a well known Psychiatrist Dato Sri Mahadevan and Dato’ Lam Peng Chong - (President of the Spastic Children’s Association of Wilayah and Selangor), at the National Polo Club, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur in 1987.

Tarnjit has travelled extensively and participated in many International Physiotherapy Conferences and presented papers including the one on Spastic Children & Management, in Kobe, JAPAN in 1987. She has recently completed a course in Vestibulary Rehabilitation and passed the compentency exam conducted in conjunction with Malaysian Physiotherapy Association and Dr Susan Whithney of University of Pittsburgh USA.
